A címlapon a Cum gratia et privilegio reginalis maiestatis etc. megjegyzés a fordítás terjesztésének Izabella királynőtől nyert kizárólagos jogára utal. A négy értekezésből álló bevezetés eleje arról tudósít, hogy a nyomtatványt a Fejérvárott lakozó Csáki Mihály erdélyi kancellár költségével adták ki. Georg Haner szerint Heltai Gáspár már 1546-tól foglalkozott a teljes Biblia magyarra fordításának és kinyomtatásának tervével. (Hungarian)
